As some of you know, member 'Digitaltoast' provides technical help for the forum, as well as hosting (i.e. storing/running) the necessary software on his servers.
The forum has many features such as rss feeds, realtime news feeds, a chat-box, image hosting etc. It also uses around 12Gb of bandwidth a month, and storage is growing rapidly. I'm sure you'll also agree that it's quick and reliable - I think we've had around 15 minutes of downtime over the last year, and even that was just a database glitch, not a hosting issue.
Hosting like that doesn't come free (but it does come cheap - around £60 a year, email, php, webstats, mysql database, domain name, etc.) Last year, Digitaltoast didn't charge anything (mainly because he forgot) and he is reselling it to me at cost price (which is lower than above). He does not charge anything for maintaining the forum from a technical aspect. Please also note that he does not have (or want) editorial control over the content or direction of the forum.
Rather than have donations for the hosting, Digital suggested a better idea would be to get a few people to use his affiliate link . That would cover it for this year, and possibly next.
That's it - just click the link for reliable hosting and you're keeping the forum going at the same time.
Thanks to all for your support.
