Well spotted! Thanks
Active topics got reset with the update. I've followed the info here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1859245 - don't forget, ACTIVE topics are distinct from NEW or UPDATED topics!

Hopefully, new stuff should start coming through as topics get updated. Stay vigilant!

The only problem is that I keep getting caught out because there is an extra option along the top and I hit 'View Uread Posts' instead of 'View New Posts', but I will get used to it.

Thanks for all your hard work Mr. Toast.

OK, thanks for that. I've posted a message on the phpbb forums to try and find out why this might be.
Stay tuned!

There's a few extra twiddly bits, mainly just fixes - full list here: http://www.phpbb.com/support/documents. ... ion=3#v305

Although, it appears that it might make it easier to install "mods": additional features.

So that calendar I've been promising for a year may happen yet! :)

Local News Headlines and Local Blogs list keeps popping up which I have never seen before but is no problem. However "active topics" seems to now give an inaccurate or out of date list which is very short. These two phenomena seem to have occured during the last week or so. :shrug1: ? ? !

Scroll down (or up depending on your settings!) a little way and you will see: viewtopic.php?p=40677#p40677

The forum software was updated - it appears to have brought in a glitch which is being discussed on the phpbb forum here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1859245

Now, when you say "Local News Headlines and Local Blogs list keeps popping up", it shouldn't. It should appear on the footer of every page, I specifically set it NOT to pop up, if it is, then it (or your browser!) is being very naughty!

The local blogs list used to appear at the top, shown as one blog/news headline at a time, but that mod is now incompatible and not updated.

Personally, I prefer being able to see it like it is - I think it gives a better "at a glance" view of recent headline from BBC Berkshire News, GetReading and Reading Chronicle.
The "local blogs" is every single blog, political or otherwise, I can find about Reading, which shows in order of recent updates, as does the news.

These blogs are (from their titles)
Cllr Dave Luckett
Get Reading Blogs
Glenn Goodall
Green Reading
Green Road Mosque Watch
independent jones
Jane Is The One
janestheone
John Redwood
Katesgrove Lib Dems
Martin Salter - Working Hard for Reading West
Martinsnottheone's Weblog
muckspReading
News from Reading Borough Council
Reading List
Reading Roars!
Reading Spanner
Redlands Liberal Democrats
Richard Willis's Blog
Working hard for Reading, Caversham and WoodleyHome

If you know of any others, let me know!

OK, it's had a few days now to see what topics are "active" - seems to be quite longer now!
Give it a go :)

Is it me, or have the message options disappeared? I.e., the option to mark a post as sticky for a certain number of days?
