whitley and its wood

intrigued by the question in another thread of where one starts and the other stops, i did a quick reccee today.

in my opinion , the boundary is in Norrtumberland avenue, just north of the pub Northumberland. I reckon this as firstly, there is a sharp incline down to the Pub and secondly thre is a marked change in architecture at that point from Victoiran/turn of the century to 1930s/1950s style houses. The top of Elgar Rd /juction of long barn lane is also approx the boundary on that road.

I always thought of trolley bus 15s terminus in WW lane as being "whitley wood" and the area served by the no 16 (Northumberland Ave) as being " somewhere else."..)

IMHO I stress

I drove right through WW and could see nothing wrong with it asa a place to live btw
