what happened to Keillers Dundee Marmalade ?

Postby Bam » 17 Jan 2010 11:27

Can anyone tell me what happened to Keillers Dundee Marmalade ? Keiller Dundee marmalade was virtually the main brand in the 1950's. It must have been cheap too because it was the only marmalade used at my school. I remember the huge commercial tins and the kitchens used to let us take some away to spread on toast in our studies. It had a nice clean taste and I would buy a jar if I could find one. The only sign I see now are broken earthenware jars I dig up in the garden.

Your answer is on this site, Bam -

Looks like Robertsons are to blame for the demise - or at least concealment - of Keillers.

However, it appears that you can still buy the stuff -

Have to confess in ''going foreign'' - Bonne Maman for me these days...... has more flavour than the usual Marmalade. :whistle1: except home-made of course!
