Re: Chat Thread

Away from water woes - today I went to Burford Garden Centre - two things - on the way back I saw a deceased animal on the side of the road - it looked like a wallaby ? Could it be ? Secondly on the return journey I think on the A40 , a police car ahead of us positioned itself at right angles across...

Mayfield. If you are legally able, carry on using a hose ( not sprinkler or swimming pool). We have a ban here and making many journeys with cans is giving me shoulder trouble. There should be an amnesty for OAPs otherwise A&E will have even longer queues. I try to be sensible and water the roo...

Re: Rats

Several things seem to be helping with our rat problem - a late neighbours shed which was unused for many years, has been demolished, a neighbour in the other direction has two cats and lastly we have black box rat traps in a couple of spots under the shed and summer house…

Re: The new PRIME MINISTER…?

Why does Liz Truss think it’s acceptable to be rude about Nicola Sturgeon and Mark Drayford ?

Fine, attack their policies - but calling Nicola Sturgeon an ‘attention seeker’ to try and score brownie points with the Conservative Party faithful doesn’t seem like a good plan to me…

Two observations : Liz Truss doesn’t mention her direct family and while she mentions her parents , it’s only to say what their politics were. In contrast Sunak mentions his family and his wife’s family with pride, even when he is attacked about them ( I know I have mentioned family before, but fami...

Re: The new PRIME MINISTER…?

Really any talk either of them may give about long term effects and plans is surely misplaced at this stage - they will have just two years, so Liz’s ‘we’d start paying down the debt in three years ‘ would could leave Conservatives asking for another term with the debt undiminished or worse, increas...

Re: The new PRIME MINISTER…?

We should look at the French system - Chronic conditions and Emergency care are covered and there’s a threshold so those on low incomes are exempt. Other than that individuals choose their policies, whether they want dental and eye care included etc….

It seems to work very well.

OMG England women won the Euro. We'll never hear the end of it. As the last big win? Was 1966 - does that 40+ years for this one too?
